The wood is grey yellow to grey brown or golden brown sometimes with darker veins. Large silver figure. It has clearly demarcated sapwood. The grain is straight or interlocked and the texture is medium. Density at 12 % moisture content: 0.58 g/cm3.
The blunting effect is normal and peeling and slicing is reported to be good. Sometimes grain tearing. Sharp tools are necessary to avoid woolliness. Nailing is good but pre-boring is necessary. Gluing is correct. Freijo dries rapid with a slight tendency to end checks. Tends to split in nailing.
